Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born the 15th of June, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. Popularly referred to as Aurora and often stylized with uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through Decca Records Decca Records in May 2015 receiving great approval from musicians and music blogs as well as the press. The singer has released a number of high-profile covers, such as Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. In order to do so she wrote her first original compositions. She points to renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. She began performing her songs publicly when her mother said they can help other people, to not become famous through her work but to make people see around them realize their importance and the ways they have an impact on the world. She started playing piano when she was just six and started writing songs before she reached nine. They didn't let her parents know about her musical journey until she was 14. The dream was never to turn into Aurora. She says she just likes writing songs. According to her, music is the best way to communicate anything.
