Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka is Belarusian born in Minsk. The father of her Sergey (d. 2019) was an Ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born on 5 May 1998, in Minsk Belarus. Aryna Sabalenka holds 12 WTA Singles titles. One of which was crowned Grand Slam during the Australian Open 2023. In her role as a specialist in doubles she has also won the US Open of 2019 as and in the Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. Together with the Belgian tennis star, she also took home an award called the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells as well as Miami in 2019 thus making her the Sunshine Double. The feat only four pairs in women's Doubles were able to pull off. The Belarusian rose from second place to third place in the World Singles Rankings on 23 August 2021. Her highest rank was again achieved in January 2023. That same year she took home the title the title in Melbourne in the following year, and then moved up to number one worldwide for doubles. Dmitry Tursunov was her coach from 2018, until her season came to an end in 2019. She also worked with him briefly before the year 2020 began. Dieter Kindlmann was the coach for her from the month of August to September of 2020. From the beginning of 2020 she's been coaching by her fellow countryman Antonio Dubrov. Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova are her idols.
